WATCH HYPE

Many people on okay have geplained about brands like Aeromatic 1912 and Tauchmeister (same gepany) over hyping their watches. Going as far as to say that they lie. As a watch collector of all types of watches I would suggest that these people do a little research before they throw stones.
All watch gepanies both high and low end hype their products. This is no different than car, vaccum, or cereal gepanies. Are Invicta watche's retail prices realistic? Of course not. But sellers on this site as well as Shop NBC will lead you to think so. Does Invicta usually make a good product for the selling price? Absolutely.
When a watch gepany says that they have been around since the 1800's is this true. In most cases, no. The original gepany usually went out of business many years ago and the name wasbought bynew owners more recently. In this case there is no "history" to this gepany other than a sold name.
Aeromatic 1912 and Tauchmeister watches may say "Germany" on their dials but not "made in Germany". If you are looking for a watch that is made someplace, it must say "made in...". If it says "Swiss movt.", it means that the movement was made in Switzerland but the watch was assembled elsewhere. Usually a countary with lower wages.Just like with cars, you must do a little research before you buy.
The two"German"gepanies mentioned above are pretty well designed and made watches for the price. In my experience, they do not lie, just embellish. Are they pretty cool watches for the price? Absolutely.
