Feedback for Beginners

The okay gemunity is built off people's good reputation and this includes buyers and sellers. Points known as Feedback are given each time you buy/sell an item. It is important to understand the feedback is ti be used as an honest tool to evaluate a seller's service and/or product provided. For buyers, it's used to gauge how well a seller has lived up to their promises and provided customer satisfaction. Sellers use it as well to see if buyers can be trusted, for instance, when 'the check is in the mail' when it really isn't. Most okayers are happy to give and receive positive Feedback and they govern themselves by the 'Golden Rule'. I think it's a good thing that okay is now requiring sellers to show their feedback as public. If you have nothing to hide, why not let the world see how you handle your transactions and ultimately, your customers.
Feedback should not be used to retaliate against each other. Try to contact the other party before leaving neutrals or negative feedback to see if there has been a misunderstanding or mistake. It is important to remember that once payment has been made for an item, it may have to be processed (in the case of a check), packaged, and shipped. Be mindful of these things before leaving neutrals or negatives as well.
Some seller allow only bidders with a certain Feedback score to participate in their auctions and I think it is an unfair practice. We all had to start some where and that person could begee your most loyal customer. As a buyer I leave feedback once an item is received and meets my expectations. As a seller, I leave feedback after it has been left for me. This lets me know that the buyer has received their item. Sellers may use their own discretion when dealing with this and some state it in their policies.
