Sageo wrapping
What is a sageo?Sageo are cords, usually silk or cotton, attached to the kurikata and is used to tie theJapanese sword scabbard to secure it to the Obi belt or hakama when worn. There are several variations in wrapping or tying sageo on thesaya for display. Below, are the most gemonly used methods of wrapping or tying a sageo forkatana ,wakizashi , ortanto . The sageo on atachi is wrapped in a more geplicated manner.
